Staff obliging, carried luggage up flights of stairs as lifts had still not be fixed days after we were first informed prior to arriving they were not working.
An independent, family-run hotel in an extended Victorian home, with many impressive original features. Close to Carlisle city centre and the M6 motorway.

Dated and tired but a very big place and did the job. Staff were pleasant and got a reasonable sleep which was all that was needed (and a not bad shower)

Lovely location and beautiful view from the back garden. Friendly front of house staff. I hadn't realised some rooms were in immediately nearby cottages but very happy with our room in Rose Cottage next to the main hotel. Nicely decorated, impeccably clean, decent shower. Good veggie breakfast and happy to swap parts of the breakfast.

we had a lovely room, handy for the lift as my wife uses a stick. the breakfast was very good with excellent service. we stayed here because we were going to Carlisle races and the hotel was ideal with a taxi rank being directly opposite. we would certainly stay again.

Dalston village is beautiful, but Carlisle Town, what we saw of it was uninspiring and unattractive.
Lots of road works , confusing road systems and busy. Not a bit like the other lake district towns.
Perhaps we hadn't seen the best of it to be fair.

Quite an underrated town.
Quite an underrated town. The castle and cathedral are very interesting, plenty of history to see. I like it most because you can quite easily travel to fantastic locations from all directions; Hadrian's wall & Newcastle to the East, Ribblehead & the Lake district to the South, the scenic Cumbrian coast to the West & the Historic Southern lowlands of Scotland to the North!

Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria.
Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria. If like me you don't drive its good to have a base with plenty of public transport to enable you to see a variety of places. Carlisle itself is easy to walk round, everything within walking distance.

I love Carlisle!
I love Carlisle!
It’s a great town with good shopping, history and nightlife
The bars and restaurants are wonderful and it’s very friendly
There is plenty of parking, it’s compact and interesting
My favourites are The Thin White Duke for drinks/food and Bocata bar for live music, atmosphere and great drinks
Everything you expect from an Ibis. Clean, great value, decent facilities, great breakfasts! Room layout the same as all other Ibis hotels I've stayed in. Staff really helpful and friendly and the hotel is in a fantastic location. Carlisle is a really nice quaint town with lots of nice restaurants. The hotel is a 1 min walk from the train station, a 2 min walk from the town centre, and a 10 min walk to Carlisle United's football stadium.
We have just returned from a wonderful stay at The Crown Hotel. It's in the beautiful village of Wetheral and located minutes from the train station which takes you to Carlisle in 7 minutes. Our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The use of the hotel spa facilities was an added bonus!
A special mention to the hotel staff, they were all so friendly and attentive. 🙂
We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. We loved that there is a bar and restaurant on premises.
We were walking Hadrian's Wall and this guest house is further from the path than we realized (totally our fault) but close to the bus into Carlisle.
Would definitely recommend and will stay again if we're in Carlisle.
Great area and the price was perfect. The room was actually big for a UK hotel. The hotel staff we met were very helpful and nice. I liked the history that is associated with the hotel and the area. Breakfast included was awesome. Great value. We would definitely stay here again. Eat at the Indian place down the street it was awesome.
The area where The Queens was situated could not have been better. Not too far away from Carlisle and just a short walk to a bus stop. The breakfast was as much or as little as we wanted. The room large enough with two very comfortable beds, and a good ensuite. The whole hotel had recently been decorated inside and out to a high standard.
Only a couple of blocks from Carlisle town center and the train station. Cornerways B&B is an original period building with the rooms furnished as such. Even so everything is neat and comfortable. Breakfast includes a buffet of cold choices or an option of hot choices to order. Owners are present, attentive and very friendly.
The hotel is very close to the M6, A69 junction near Carlisle and is perfect for a stop over. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed on our way up for a holiday in Scotland and liked the hotel so much we did the same on our way back. Highly recommended.
Loved the overall look and feel of the hotel! It was very clean and a mix of modern, organic, and traditional styles. The breakfast was great, I felt like the quality of the food was very good and options were plentiful. The blackout curtains in the room worked great, the bathroom was super nice!
The hotel is located in a relatively quiet area outside the centre of Carlisle, although it's not too far away either. The staff were very friendly and helpful and everything seemed to work as it should. Breakfast was good and included in the very reasonable overall price. Ample parking.
The location of the hotel is very good, as it's in Carlisle City Centre, and also only a few minutes away from a large supermarket. There was also a very nice breakfast included in the price as well, which meant that the room was very good value for money.
Old, characterful hotel in centre of town (but note that Botchergate = pub street: fine for we two!!!
Carlisle we found full of interest for the 1•5 days we were there: castle, river, park and cathedral & vicinity.
Turkish restaurant was v good
This was a lovely hotel based in the center of Carlisle, a few steps from the train station and close to all amenities pubs bars restaurants, and old fire station for bands ect.
Would highly recommend
Our visit to the hotel was lovely , the staff were very friendly and helpful and was always on hand to answer any questions we had , the breakfast was beautiful and the pool and jacuzzi was also great.
Hotel is in a small village but only a short drive from Carlisle, excellent value for the night if you don't mind staying out of the town and driving. Very friendly and helpful hotel owner.
The room was not dirty.
The location was convenient to getting to Carlisle centre and there was a large car park which could be used free of charge when staying at the hotel.
Clean, quiet, and conveniently located for Hadrians Wall or activities in and around Carlisle. Friendly staff and convenient breakfast or packed lunch options for walkers.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. With this hospitable hotel I have decided to have a long stay in this hotel again whenever I come back to Carlisle.
